Humility

Today I got called out on being a braggart. It wasn't a good feeling. Mostly, because I knew it was true. I got called on my BS over a stupid thing to brag about and it hurt. It especially hurt because the person I was bragging to was who called me out on it and my subconscious desire to impress them turned into a shameful display of how to look like a goober.

Being confronted with our own inadequacies is part of the reason we brag. We inflate ourselves in one area of life to feel ago about that inadequacy. Overcoming this is having the self confidence and inner pride to move forward with humility. It's not always easy, but most of the good things in life aren't easy.

Being strong is about having a quiet humility. This strength doesn't necessarily manifest itself physically, but it will strengthen the mind and soul which will eventually help strengthen the body. Be humble. Be kind. Think before you gloat and praise others for their achievements so that they can avoid having to inflate themselves in front of others. After all it is nice to receive a compliment and that is what most of us are looking for when we gloat.

Be strong. Be kind.
